After Adam made the decision to reject God's offer and return to the dust where there is death. Humanity was unable to return to the tree of life. It was protected by cherubim with fiery swords. It would require death. But God had a plan and found a way to come to us. It required a substitute. Unfortunately, the substitute offered in the Old Testament with animals was incomplete and insufficient. So God provided the ultimate substitute in Jesus! And now we have access to God the Father an eternal life once again. That is good news. That is news of first importance!
