Scott and his wife Erin have lived in Colorado Springs most of their lives while raising their three children. After serving as Associate Pastor for many years, God has called Scott and Erin to plant Inspiration Church right in the heart of Colorado Springs. Scott has a desire to see people discover who Jesus is as they grow in their relationship with Him. He wants to help the younger generation learn the truths of God’s Word, and he wants to help believers reach their full potential for the Lord. Scott is so excited for what God is doing through Inspiration Church as more people experience the love, joy and salvation that Jesus brings.

While Steve felt an initial call to ministry in high school, he heard and answered a specific call into Care Ministry after miraculously recovering from a significant health scare in 2004. It is his desire to share God's love and compassion and to help those who are hurting and going through difficult times in their lives. 

Steve and Kathie, who have ministered together since the early 90s, were called to Inspiration Church in the Fall of 2023. They immediately felt a sense of belonging and they love serving our Lead Pastors and congregation!

Steve likes to turkey hunt in his hometown of Superior, NE and fish in Alaska. 

Steven and Kathie Vergo have lived in Colorado Springs since the mid-80s. Most of their free time is spent with their children and grandchildren, or hosting friends at their house. 

Kathie has a heart for Worship and loves leading the congregation into the presence of God each Sunday morning. She also loves ministering to women and enjoys hosting events where they can connect and be encouraged. 

Erin felt a call to teach children from a very young age and has been blessed to do so in many forms. She teaches her three children the importance of loving God and loving others. She teaches elementary students in secular schools reading, writing, math and the importance of being kind, and she teaches children at the church about Jesus and how He can use them even in their young age. Her desire is to see children know Jesus, love Jesus, share Jesus and be a light for Jesus wherever they go.  She feels honored to serve at Inspiration Church alongside her husband, Scott, and she is so grateful God called them to plant Inspiration Church, a place where people can connect and grow together in the love of Christ. 

Theresa James has been working with high school students since 2006 as a high school teacher in Colorado Springs. She began her ministry with teen girls in Girls Ministry in 2016 and then began volunteering with a youth group ministry locally in 2018. Theresa’s work in a secular school gives her a view of what the youth face on a regular basis and allows her to address the temptations kids today face. Theresa felt called to become the youth leader at Inspiration Church when it opened in 2023. Theresa’s primary objective as the youth leader is to see young people develop a deep, personal relationship with God and grow in their God given talents and gifts.
