The early believers were together and had all things in common. Yes, they loved each other and out the needs of others ahead of their own, but that was not the only reason they came together. After they accepted Jesus as their Savior, they were no longer welcomed as guests in the home of their Jewish Brothers and Sisters. The world they knew no longer accepted them. Jesus said the world will hate and persecute those who follow Christ because of the name of Jesus. This is why we are part of a new community, a community of believers.
